Description
Togouchi 15 Year Old is a Japanese blended whisky from Chugoku Jozo, bottled at 43.8% ABV. Like the rest of the Togouchi range, it is aged in a railway tunnel near the town of Togouchi rather than a conventional warehouse, where cool, stable conditions allow a slow, gentle maturation. The blend draws on whiskies sourced from Scotland and Canada.
Fifteen years of ageing give a rounded, nutty profile with soft spice and a light touch of peat on the finish.
- Nose: Soft pastry with cinnamon, pear and a hint of dried earth.
- Palate: Nutty malt with milk chocolate and a touch of caraway.
- Finish: Peppercorn and vanilla with a lingering peaty note.
