Kilkerran Heavily Peated comes from the Glengyle distillery in Campbeltown, one of Scotland’s smallest whisky regions. Alongside its lightly peated core range, Kilkerran releases this heavily peated single malt in limited batches, each bottled at cask strength.
Maturation can vary from batch to batch, but the spirit is typically matured predominantly in bourbon casks, which lets the peat smoke sit alongside sweeter, maltier notes. Strength and character differ slightly with every batch, which is part of the appeal for followers of the distillery.
