Tamdhu, in the heart of Speyside, is known for maturing its whisky in sherry casks, and the Batch Strength series shows that style at full power. Each numbered batch is a separate marriage of selected oloroso sherry casks, bottled at natural cask strength without reduction.
Because each batch is unique, the ABV and the exact flavour change from release to release, so check the label for the batch number and strength of your bottle. The series typically shows sherried oak, honey, red berries, caramel, cinnamon and raisin, followed by candied citrus peel, vanilla, toffee apple and fruitcake, and a finish of figs and spiced orange.
