Description
Talisker 57° North takes its name from the latitude of the Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye and is bottled at a matching 57% ABV. This Island single malt carries no age statement and is presented at high strength, offering the full force of the distillery’s maritime, smoky and peppery character.
At full strength it is bold and warming; a splash of water softens the spirit and brings out more of its toffee sweetness and fruit, so it rewards a little experimentation in the glass.
- Nose: Clean and intense, with a struck-match smokiness, creamy toffee, fruit and hints of seaweed, heather and vanilla.
- Palate: Sweet at first, then a surge of smoke and tar through the centre.
- Finish: Long and tingling with the signature Talisker pepper.
