Description
Talisker Distillers Edition is the annual double-matured release from the Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye. After its initial maturation, the whisky is given a second period in American oak casks seasoned with amoroso, a sweet style of sherry, before bottling at 45.8% ABV. Each release carries its own distillation and bottling years on the label.
The amoroso influence layers dried fruit and gentle sweetness over the coastal smoke, salt and black pepper that define the house style, giving a richer, rounder take on the classic Talisker character.
- Nose: Sea spray and bonfire smoke with a raisined sweetness.
- Palate: Sticky dates and peat smoke, peppery spice and a pinch of salt.
- Finish: Drying oak with lingering smoke.
