Description
Smokehead Rum Rebel is a limited bottling from Smokehead, the Islay single malt brand from Ian Macleod Distillers. The whisky comes from an undisclosed Islay distillery and is finished in casks that previously held Caribbean rum, pairing heavy peat smoke with a wave of tropical sweetness.
The result is a playful contrast between seaside smoke and ripe fruit, bottled at 46% ABV.
- Nose: Islay smoke and a hint of seaweed, followed by barbecued pineapple and fresh mango.
- Palate: Savoury and briny at first, then tropical fruit and cola cube sweetness take over.
- Finish: Waxy orange and vanilla, fading into the embers of a beach bonfire.
