Kilchoman Sanaig is named after the dramatic rocky inlet on the west coast of Islay, near the distillery. Established in 2005, Kilchoman is Islay’s farm distillery, one of the smallest and most hands-on operations on the island, growing barley on its own farm and carrying out every stage from malting to bottling on site for its 100% Islay releases.
Sanaig is part of the core range and is vatted from predominantly Oloroso sherry cask-matured whisky combined with ex-bourbon barrel stock. This creates a compelling interplay between Kilchoman’s signature peat smoke and the rich dried fruit and chocolate notes imparted by quality sherry wood.
