Description
The Black Label Origin series takes the familiar 12 year old Johnnie Walker and explores the regions that shape it. This edition focuses on Islay, the island off Scotland’s west coast famous for peat-smoked malts. Unlike standard Black Label, it contains no grain whisky: it is a blended malt made only from Islay single malts, with Caol Ila and Lagavulin among the components.
Every whisky in the blend is at least 12 years old, and it is bottled at 42% ABV. The label’s tasting note points to prominent sweet peat and bonfire embers, a touch of spice and a long, smoky finish, so expect a smokier, more coastal take on the Black Label profile.
Enjoy it neat or with a splash of water to open up the fruit beneath the smoke, or try it in a smoky highball with chilled soda. This limited edition is available from Decanter Liquor with delivery across South Africa.
