Description
The Famous Grouse traces its story to Perth, where Matthew Gloag created a blended Scotch named The Grouse Brand in 1896. The whisky proved so popular that the word Famous was added to its name in 1905, and the bird has remained the emblem of the brand ever since.
As a blended Scotch it combines malt and grain whiskies, matured in oak casks and then married together for a smooth, well-rounded character. It is a versatile everyday Scotch, easy enough for newcomers and dependable for anyone who wants a reliable dram on hand for guests.
How to serve: Enjoy it neat or with a splash of water, over ice, or in a highball with soda water or ginger ale and a twist of citrus. It also works well in a classic whisky sour or a hot toddy on a winter evening.
The Famous Grouse is available from Decanter Liquor with delivery across South Africa.
